A Playhouse Party by Pictures

A Playhouse Party in Pictures
By Nikki Rowell, Sales Marketing Manager

It was a warm and sun-filled day at the Playhouse on April 12th! The Season Kick-Off Block Party was a huge success with over 850 people in attendance. Families and guests visited the Playhouse and enjoyed a bevy of activities and treats including food trucks, backstage tours, production demonstrations, kids’ activities, live music and more! It was a wonderful way to celebrate the beginning of the 2014 Season, which officially opens on Tuesday, April 29th.

Party attendees were welcomed with scavenger hunt questions and a map of the Playhouse as they were invited to go on a self-guided tour.   Entrees from the scavenger hunt were entered to win a large treat basic from Saugatuck Sweets.

Guests walk through the backstage area to see the dressing rooms and along halls which are adorned with headshots from actors who have performed on the Playhouse stage.

As part of the tour, guests were invited on stage, where a live-action production demonstration was set up for guests to learn more about food props.   Here our production team demonstrates how filet mignon is created using watermelon!

Along with tours of the theater, guests were able to enjoy food from the very popular food trucks that were parked on campus.   Here guests are beginning to line up to visit Skinny Pines Pizza , LobsterCRAFT , Christophe's Crepes, and Bodega.

Beaver Beer and Shake Shack were also on hand offering complimentary custard and beer tastings.

Children were able to visit the arts and crafts table throughout the day to create their own paper bag puppets and had fun using them in creative performances of their own on the Playhouse patio.
